Connect
Establish data.
Agree the process, the KPI and the data sources. Establish read access to the systems where the process leaves its trace. Baseline the KPI.
Output · Data readiness confirmed; KPI baseline agreed.

Understand
Reconstruct process reality.
Build the event model and reconstruct how the process actually runs: variants, delays, rework, exceptions and where the value leaks.
Output · Process model and value-leakage view, validated with the process owner.

Predict
Identify outcomes while intervention is possible.
Define the prediction target and horizon, back-test on history and agree the quality threshold before anything reaches a queue.
Output · Prediction feed on open cases, with confidence and drivers.

Decide
Define the permitted next action.
Define the interventions, the policy that bounds them and the autonomy level of each action type — signed off by the people accountable for the process.
Output · Recommendation logic and policy, approved.

Act
Operationalize the response.
Put one governed intervention into production — routed to the people, systems, automation or agent step suited to it — starting at a conservative autonomy level.
Output · One playbook live, with approvals and audit trail.

Measure
Evaluate the outcome.
Compare treated cases with comparable untreated cases against the baseline. Decide together whether and where to expand.
Output · Measured result and an evidence-based expansion decision.
Is a Sprint the right start?
A good first process has three properties.

Event data already exists
The process leaves timestamps in an ERP, CRM, service system or data platform — orders, invoices, tickets, approvals, shipments.
- 02
A KPI someone owns
DSO, exception rate, OTIF, SLA compliance, cycle time — a number a CFO or COO would recognize and defend.
- 03
A decision that can still change the outcome
There is time between the moment risk becomes visible and the moment the cost is paid — and a permitted action that fits in it.
Questions
Plain answers.
- Is 4–6 weeks a guaranteed timeline?
- No. It is the typical initial scope. The actual duration depends on how quickly data access is established, how complete the event data is and how complex the process is. We agree the plan after the Connect step, not before.
- What data do we need to provide?
- Read access to the systems where the process leaves timestamps — typically an ERP, CRM or service system, or a data platform that already holds their tables. Exports can work for the Understand step; live prediction needs a refreshing source.
- Does anything act automatically during the Sprint?
- Not by default. The first intervention runs at a conservative autonomy level — usually recommend, prepare or execute with approval. Bounded autonomy is a later decision, made on evidence.
- What happens after the Sprint?
- You have a measured result and a clear picture of the value of expanding to more interventions, more segments or more processes. Whether to continue is your decision, based on that evidence.
